Marathon man Jim raises
over one million Baht Yesterday, Sunday July 20, Jim Lumsden of Ambiance and PGF fame, competed in the 2008 Pattaya Marathon. And we are delighted to tell you that, despite the torrential rain, he completed the 42 kilometre run in five hours and 10 minutes. This means that Jim raised 960,000 Baht in sponsorship, plus a donation of 40,000 Baht from Copa Showbar and a further fantastic donation of 100,000 Baht from Duck of Croatia, given to Jim at the "Three Divas" dinner show at Le Café Royale. The money raised is to be used by the Pattaya Gay Festival to fund an exciting new project, helping HIV sufferers, to be announced very soon. Will Jim be running the marathon again? "I think I could possibly do it quicker" he said. I think we will just have to wait and see. Jim would also like to thank all of his friends, supporters and sponsors for all of their help and encouragement over the last three months. Congratulations Jim, hope your legs are not aching too much today! As a post script we can report that Jim was also given a further 60,000 Baht today (Monday 21 July) bringing the total so far to 1,160,000 baht.
